Joanie Tompkins

Joanie Tompkins is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist practicing in our Sebastopol office. She has been doing therapy for 10 years, and has a broad base of experience, including therapy with individuals in various settings, crisis intervention, working with at-risk teens and their families, as well as substance abuse issues. She interned at the Couples Center in 2005, and recently has returned as an associate.  Joanie believes that in order for  clients to bring their whole selves to their therapy, that the therapist must be willing to do so as well. She practices in a very interactive, participatory style, and tailors her approach to fit the client, as well as the circumstance.

Joanie's chosen areas of specialization are couples therapy, adolescent and teen issues, depression and other mood disorders and addiction.
