Don Waxman, MFTI

Don Waxman, MFTI, works with individuals, couples and families in Rohnert Park and Sebastopol. Don has over twenty-five years experience starting-up and managing private sector and non-profit businesses. He has worked for Hospice as a bereavement and end-of-life volunteer counselor for the past eight years. Don helps clients to cultivate a more intimate and compassionate connection to what they are experiencing in the moment.
Clients learn how to:

1. .. Identify and contact their core emotional material
2. .. Manage their emotions in ways that do not overwhelm them
3. .. Relate their emotions to their core needs and desires
4. .. Express their emotions, needs and desires in authentic, compassionate and respectful ways that create new meanings and possibilities for themselves and their relationships to significant others.

Special areas of interest are trauma, physical and emotional intimacy, difficult family dynamics and interactions, motivational issues, cross-cultural challenges, and end-of-life and bereavement counseling.
